Karotz now does Facebook – Live the Internet

by Jonathan Yaniv - on Feb 2nd 2012 - No Comments

The Karotz “smart” rabbit is the first-ever hardware device tailor-made especially for Facebook.  It is the third generation of the multipurpose, internet-connected rabbits which first launched in 2005 as Nabaztag, and has since become an Internet icon.  The immensely popular robotic companions transform daily life by providing a link to family, friends and the world.  Karotz is now compatible with Facebook– a wonderful addition to its already extensive range of features.

“We are excited to launch the new Karotz smart rabbit which is compatible with Facebook, to allow people to interact both with their new companion and with their friends wherever they are“, Fabien Bardinet, CEO of Violet. “Following the successful launch of Karotz in the US at CES this year, we are confident that it will also do very well in Europe as Karotz already has a strong fan base of people who like to keep in touch with their friends and family via social networking sites on a daily basis.  The concept behind Karotz is to make communicating with friends and sharing information both an interactive and fun experience.”

Review: Griffin Flat AUX Cable

by Jonathan Yaniv - on Jan 29th 2012 - No Comments

Recently I received the Griffin Flat AUX Cable for review. There really isn’t much to say about it, other than it does the job and it’s a very high quality cable that has 3.5 mm stereo connections on each end and of course, you guessed it – the cable is flat.

You’ll use this cable to connect your iPhone, iPod, MP3 player, iPad, laptop — all kinds of devices with headphone jacks or line-out jacks — to the AUX-in port of your car stereo, the mic jack in your home entertainment system, and all kinds of audio jacks, everywhere.

Features

  • Stereo audio cable
  • Flat cross-section resists tangling, kinking
  • 1/8″ (3.5 mm) stereo connectors
  • Wide range of applications in car, home, office, and studio
  • Available in 3-foot (0.9 m) and 6-foot (1.8 m) lengths

Overall, if you are looking for a high quality AUX cable, I do suggest the one from Griffin Technology. You can get it from $14.99 – $19.99 from Griffin.

Hands On: Satechi Bluetooth Speaker

by Ty Pier - on Jan 28th 2012 - No Comments

Sometimes smaller is actually better. Nobody wants to lug around a massive pair of speakers, or a bulky dock for your phone just to blast some jams louder then your speakerphone. Plus all the cables that get tangled up with your said speakers and power cable it’s just a mess. No longer must you be stuck by the cement shoes known as cables. Hit the break to be freed Neo!

Google Music Updated – Now A Massive Storage For Your Music With Download Capability

by Bryan Bellino - on Jan 27th 2012 - No Comments

Google, they just keep getting better and better.  Many Android folks have been using Google Music for some time to store and stream their music library from the cloud.  Unfortunately once you uploaded your own music to the cloud there was really no way to grab everything back down as a local copy in case you say deleted your local files or your hard drive was fried…..until now.

Google has updated their Music Manager software to include a full library download feature.  This means that all the music you have uploaded can be brought back down from the cloud with the click of a button.  Pretty sweet.  I noticed my Music Manager software had updated on its own, so check for yourself, and if you are still on an older version head to http://music.google.com and grab the latest version.

by Bryan Bellino - on Jan 20th 2012 - No Comments

Google had their Q4 2011 earnings live call yesterday and boy oh boy did they have a lot to say.  Here is a breakdown in list form:

These figures blow away most, if not all, of the competition in the smartphone wars.  With 350 million “active” GMail/Gtalk users worldwide, i’d like to know how that figure stacks up against current active iMessage and BBM users. (more…)
