The long known rumor looks to be confirmed in a recently leaked Best Buy ad. Verizon will be calling the Galaxy Nexus, the Nexus Prime. THUNDERBOLT Delayed Till March 4th?

by Ben Oaks - on Feb 24th 2011 - No Comments

According to this Twitter posting from the Roseville Best Buy it appears as the HTC Thunderbolt launch has been set back a few more days till March 4th. According to a report over at androidpolice.com one of the possible reason for the further delay is problems with the LTE network. According to thedroidguy.com they have rumors of the problem being the handoff from 4G to 3G. Hopefully they get this resolved sooner than later. What do you think? Will this change your mind as to what phone you will be getting? Hit up our forums and let us know.

Mobile link for video here

Well what do we have here?  Looks like Verizon has just released their first commercial for the long awaited, and heavily rumored HTC Thunderbolt!  Just in case you’ve been living under a rock for the past few months the Thunderbolt is the first LTE handset to be offered by Verizon and will offer a data connection over their new 4G network, while still providing voice over CDMA.  The Thunderbolt has been rumored to be launching on February 24th, and with this commercial released I would say those rumors are pretty spot on!

Exclusive: Verizon/Motorola Testing Android OS 2.4 for Droid Lineup?

by - on Feb 14th 2011 - No Comments

Monday’s are usually not to exciting, but the news we were able to gather over the weekend and bring to you should spice it up a bit.  Two of our informants have let us in on some interesting information.  Remember when we first talked about Motorola and Verizon pushing out OS 2.3 to their Droid lineup, including the Droid X, Droid 2, and Droid 2 Global?  We are now hearing that OS 2.4 is ALSO in testing for Motorola and “possibly” could be pushed instead of OS 2.3.

Both OS 2.3 and 2.4 are Gingerbread, just as OS 2.0 and 2.1 were both codename Eclair.  The differences between 2.3 and 2.4 are minimal if at all visually but driver/software/firmware/hardware wise 2.4 will incorporate full NFS compatibility as well as dual-core support from the OS itself.  A big deal when you have a dual-core phone, say something like the DroidX2 and Droid 3?  Yep…

Thanks P and S!
